    2007 FXHO known issues?

    Looking to buy a 20HR. 2007 FXHO Cruiser and wondering if there are any known issues I should look for. I will only be able to test on the hose no sea test. Seems like a good deal ...20 hr ski last run in 2012 ,kept indoors, serviced this last summer with documentation, includes trailer $5500.00.

    Will ski perform equally as well as newer fxho larger ski?

    That ski has the 1052cc 160hp rated MR1 engine vs the newer 1812cc 180hp rated. Top speed is @58 at @10,000rpm vs @65 at @8,000rpm. The MR1 engine in the VX skis is rated at 110hp. No water test will be tough. May sound good but with no load. Maybe try to talk to who serviced it. It has SMC hull versus the newer Nanocel which is lighter. 5.5K seems a little high. Hopefully a member that has or had one can advise you about performance to newer style.

    I have an 07 cruiser. Gets about 55 on gps stock.
    If it has been in salt water alot, one possible problem would be wear ring bulging from the corosion between the stainless sleeve and the aluminum pump. If it cranks right up, visually inspect the wear ring clearance at least. The low hours is not as much of a benefit as a person thinks unless it was stored properly. I had rust on the exhaust valves on mine from the valves that were left in the open position when it was stored.

    If salt...all 4 of my motor mounts were eaten apart on my 06 and 07 fxhos. 135 hrs. Pure neglect.

    I would say that if u look at the motor and see no rust or very little, this is less likely. All of my hose clamps were rusted apart as well and the motor needed to be pulled to get at them all. Check those pisser before u ride to make sure they are not plugged either.

    $5500 is a bit steep in Houston for this time of year. Mine has battle would and I'm only gonna ask 3100 when I sell mine now that she is cleaned up.

    20hr on a 8 year old ski not run for 3 years..... i think that is very very low. perhaps too low..... to buy without a thorough test at least....

    The Golden rule here is never buy a ski without a water test (that means riding it on the water for a good while with it under full load)

    There was a recall on the 2007 FX HO for the cooling I believe. Hose clamps or something coming loose and, potentially, filling the hull with water. My dealer did the service free of charge a number of years ago. Aside from that, my 07 is bulletproof. As others mentioned, the MR1 is a great engine.
